Demonstrative pronoun किसे कहते हैं

Definition:-

वे प्रोनाउंस जो व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं को प्रदर्शित या संकेतिक करने के लिए प्रयोग किए जाते हैं तो वह सभी Demonstrative Pronouns कहलाते हैं। Example:- this, that, these, those, such, the same.

Demonstrative pronoun तथा Demonstrative adjective में अन्तर

जब किसी वाक्य में This, That, These, Those, के बाद Noun आता हैं तो This, That, These, Those को demonstrative adjective कहते हैं लेकिन जब This, That, These, Those, के बाद Noun नहीं आता है तो This, That, These, Those, को demonstrative pronoun कहा जाता है। Example:-

• This book is mine. [Demonstrative adjective]
• These flowers are yours.[Demonstrative adjective]
• This is my book.[demonstrative pronoun]
• This is a gift from her.[demonstrative pronoun]

This का प्रयोग

This का अर्थ “यह” होता है तथा This का प्रयोग नजदीक के व्यक्ति या वस्तु के लिए किया जाता है। This का plural form “These” होता है।Example:-

• This is a cat.(singular)
• These are cats.(plural)

That का प्रयोग

That का अर्थ “वह” होता है तथा That का प्रयोग दूर की व्यक्ति या वस्तु के लिए किया जाता है। That का plural form “Those” होता हैं। Example:-

• That is a book.(singular)
• Those are books. (Plural)

Demonstrative pronoun से की महत्वपूर्ण rules

(1). यदि दो singular nouns ‘and’ से जुड़कर किसी sentence or clause में प्रयोग हो तो last singular noun के लिए this तथा first singular noun के लिए that का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

(2). Singular noun के repetition को रोकने के लिए that of  तथा plural noun के repetition को रोकने के लिए those of का प्रयोग किया जाता है। Example:-

• The climate of Pune is better than the climate of Mumbai.[×]
• The climate of Pune is better than that of Mumbai[✓]
• The streets of Delhi are wider than the streets of Mumbai. [×]
• The streets of Delhi are wider than news of Mumbai. [✓]
• Our soldiers were better drilled that those of enemies.
• The rivers of America are longer than those of Europe.

(3).  such का प्रयोग demonstrative pronoun के रूप में singular और plural दोनो ही अर्थ में होता हैं। Example:-

• He is the house owner and such he has the right to maintain the house.
• Criminals are restricted such by law.
• Such is your mistake that no body can forgive yyou.
