Conjunction का अर्थ
Conjunction का अर्थ होता हैं जोड़ना। कंजेक्शन दो वाक्यों को जोड़ने का काम करता है इसलिए इसे connecting words भी कहा जाता है।
Conjunction की definition
A conjunction is a word which joins two or more than two words, phrases, clauses or sentences.
Conjunction वह शब्द है जो दो या दो से अधिक words,phrases,clauses या sentences को जोड़ता है।
Conjunction example
- Pintu and Sintu went to the market.
- Mukesh gave me a book and an ink pot.
- I went to see him but he was not there.
- Give me tea or coffee.
ऊपर दिया गया उदाहरणों में and,but,or का प्रयोग क्रमशः Pintu and Sintu, a book and an inkpot, को जोड़ने के लिए किया गया है। इस लिए इसे conjunction कहते हैं।

Conjunction दो प्रकार के होते हैं।
- Co-ordinating conjunction.
- Subordinating conjunction.
Coordinating conjunction किसे कहते हैं?
Coordinating का शाब्दिक अर्थ “सामान्य श्रेणी या कोटि का” होता है। इनका प्रयोग हमेशा दो समान श्रेणी के words, phrases, clauses तथा sentences को जोड़ने के लिए किया जाता है अर्थात समान function करने वाले शब्दों को जोड़ने के लिए किया जाता है।
Ex— and, but, or, nor, for, yet, so, as well as, Either—or, Neither—nor, both—and, not only—- but also, only, then, therefore, no less than, otherwise, or else, still, while/whereas, nevertheless, etc.
Subordinate clause किसी कहते हैं?
Subordinating conjunction वह clause हैं जो पूर्ण अर्थ नहीं रखता है अर्थात अपने अर्थ के लिए principal clause पर निर्भर करता है। इसे subordinate clause कहते हैं।
Ex before, after, since, as soon as, as long as, so that, because etc.
